Air Source Heat Pumps

Overview: An Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) transfers heat from outside to inside a building (or vice versa) using a refrigerant system. They are highly efficient, providing up to four times the heat compared to electric resistance heaters using the same amount of electricity. ASHPs can function as both heaters and coolers, often referred to as “reverse-cycle air conditioners.”

Key Components:

  • Evaporator Coil: Converts refrigerant from liquid to gas.
  • Compressor: Elevates temperature and pressure of the gas.
  • Condenser: A heat exchanger made of copper pipes, transferring heat to water.
  • Expansion Valve: Drops refrigerant pressure, lowering its temperature.
  • Fan: Draws ambient air into the heat pump.
  Features

  • High-Efficiency Compressor:
  • Rotary and scroll types for domestic and commercial use.
  • Built-In Circulation Pump
  • German Willo pumps ensure effective water circulation.
  • Intelligent Control
  • Digital controller with LCD display for precise temperature management.
  • Corrosion Resistance
  • Blue hydrophilic aluminum fins protect against corrosion.
  Function

  • The fan draws outside air into the evaporator coil, where the refrigerant turns from liquid to gas. The compressor increases the gas’s temperature and pressure, which then passes through the condenser to heat water.
  • The refrigerant condenses back to liquid, drops in temperature via the expansion valve, and the cycle repeats.
  Efiiciency

  • ASHPs are highly efficient, providing up to four times the heat of traditional electric heaters.
  • Uses refrigerants like R134A, R417A, or R407C, which are eco-friendly and ozone-safe.

  • Domestic Hot Water Heat Pumps:
    •  Suitable for homes, villas, and retrofitting existing water heating systems.
  • Commercial and Industrial Heat Pumps:

Designed for larger applications like hotels, hospitals, and industrial processes.
